"Australia's mini Grand-Canyon!"
Hughenden, located in the Flinders Shire, is situated on the edge of a vast prehistoric inland sea, once home to terrestrial dinosaurs and marine reptiles! On entering the Flinders Discovery Centre you’ll be greeted by the sight of “Hughie,” a life-size skeletal replica of a 7-metre Muttaburrasaurus, cast from the original bones of a 110 million-year-old dinosaur! Hughenden is also home to Australia’s ‘mini Grand Canyon,’ the spectacular Porcupine Gorge, featuring the iconic rock formation known as ‘The Pyramid.’ This big sky outback town boasts an incredible lake open for sporting and recreational use.
